How to choose wedding vendors
Book in the order that decides everything else, and compare two or three for each role:
- Venue first - it sets the date, the guest count and often the caterer.
- Then photographer, planner and band or DJ: the good ones book up 9 to 12 months ahead.
- Florist, hair and makeup, cake and stationery can follow 6 to 9 months out.
- Read recent reviews, not just the rating - look for comments about weddings like yours.
- Ask for a full wedding gallery or recording, not just highlights.
- Get every quote in writing, with what's included, the deposit and the payment dates.
Why distance from the venue matters
Vendors close to your venue often know it already - the light, the rules, where to load in - and many charge travel fees beyond a certain distance. BrideSpark measures from the venue's real address, so you see at a glance who's local. Planning a destination wedding? Search near the venue for local vendors, or near home for the ones you'd like to bring.
