What you can do

Add to calendar

Every save-the-date includes the date, place and a button that adds it to the guest's calendar.

Personal emails

Each guest gets their own email, with their name - not a group message.

Send now or schedule

Write it tonight, send it on Sunday morning.

Know who's had one

Guests are marked "Save-the-date sent"; a second send only goes to the ones who haven't.

A printable card too

Design a matching save-the-date card in your wedding style.

Then invitations and RSVPs

The same guest list carries on to invitations with online RSVP.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add your guests

Paste or import your list - only emails are needed to send.

  2. 2

    Write your save-the-date

Edit the subject and message; the date, place and calendar button are added for you.

  3. 3

    Preview

See exactly what guests will get.

  4. 4

    Send or schedule

Emails go out gradually to stay out of spam folders.

When to send save-the-dates

6 to 8 months before the wedding is the usual rule; 8 to 12 months for a destination wedding or one on a holiday weekend, when guests need to book travel or time off. Send them as soon as your date and venue are confirmed and your guest list is settled - everyone who gets a save-the-date must get an invitation.

What to write on a save-the-date

Keep it short. A save-the-date only needs:

  • Your names
  • The date
  • The town or city (the venue is optional at this stage)
  • "Invitation to follow" or "Formal invitation to follow"
  • Your wedding website, if it's ready - for travel and hotel details

Email or paper?

Digital save-the-dates are free, arrive instantly and - with an Add to Calendar button - are much harder to forget. Paper cards are a lovely keepsake for grandparents and close family. With BrideSpark you can do both from the same guest list: email most guests, print a few cards.

Questions, answered

Are digital save-the-dates free?

Yes. Sending save-the-dates, invitations, updates and thank-you notes by email is free in BrideSpark.

Will my save-the-date end up in spam?

Each guest gets their own email from a properly authenticated address, sent gradually with a plain-text version and an unsubscribe link - the things inbox providers look for. Guests can also reply straight to you.

Can I send a second save-the-date to new guests?

Yes - a second save-the-date only goes to guests who haven't had one yet.
